Martial Yoga strives to balance the vigorous action of traditional martial arts with the soft, stillness that so often typifies yoga. Practitioners of Martial Yoga can expect a class where one finds his or her yoga mat and joins the class in being led through a series of postures, not unlike a typical yoga class. However, those postures may be modified to encompass, lines, forms or other aspects more familiar to a martial artist. Additionally, the pace of the class is dynamic where, even while holding a pose, there is movement. Martial yoga reminds us that we are all animals and all movement arts, should strive to discover our most basic, natural, movement. Martial yoga, while physical in nature, is a meditation throughout and thus, strengthens the body, calms the mind, and emboldens the spirit.

Students, please bring a yoga mat, water bottle and comfortable clothing.
