Hitchcock Free Academy is an 1855 Italianate-style building available to rent for private parties. We have a variety of room choices, folding tables and chairs, and access to a refrigerator, stove and sinks. The first floor is wheelchair accessible.
Per our court decree, there are no political or religious meetings allowed in our facility.

Available Spaces:
- The Lower Auditorium (LA) is accessible on the first floor and can seat up to 50 people at tables. A mini stage area (2 steps) works well for highlighting a guest of honor.
- The Lower West (LW) is accessible and is often used in conjunction with a rental of the Lower Auditorium (LA).
- The large Upper Auditorium (UA) is on the second floor and is well suited to more active gatherings, a dance, a child’s birthday party, etc. Up to 125 people can be seated theater-style. Preschool-age toys are available for use for free.
- Located off the upper auditorium, the Upper West (UW) room is a perfect place for pizza or cake for a party using the upper auditorium or for a smaller gathering.
General Information:
- Decorating rooms: Decorations are allowed, but please use painter’s tape to protect the plaster walls. All decorations must be removed before you leave.
- Tables and chairs: Folding chairs, 6-foot folding tables and 36” square card tables are available to arrange in whatever setup you wish.
- WIFI available
- Access to 32 inch TV screen with HDMI input
